summary of week [Aug. 17th, 2006|02:26 pm]

[music |violin practice scales]

Monday: Ran around like crazy getting ready for the movers (getting money orders, moving around furniture to make more room, reserving a trailer, buying boxes, going to the grocery store, reserving a storage unit.)

Tuesday: Ran around like crazy helping/supervising the movers, picking up the trailer, hauling stuff to storage, mild trauma occuring when I kept trying to smoosh a tall bookcase flat against a wall and then realized there was actually a *cat* (GB) stuck/hiding behind it (not making a sound! poor thing.) But she's O.K. now, don't call the SPCA on me please. Unpacked photographs and started crying from homesickness and missingness. :( I'm such a girl.

Wednesday: Ran around like crazy unpacking and going to my music lesson, mild trauma around 4 p.m. when one of the family children was missing but was shortly afterwards found still at school (just not where she was supposed to be). Music lesson was great however. Wednesday is also "book writing night"... the dad bounces ideas around with us about the book he's writing, which is not only really fun but makes me very ancy to start working on my own book again.

Thursday: Woke up at 8 a.m., said "Screw this" and went back to bed until noon, when Kim called me saying "Uh by the way when are they coming to get Faraday from my barn?" Called the horse shippers to get a time. Called Kim back. Now I'm having a cup of coffee, mooching around the internet avoiding a) the absolute ocean of boxes left to be unpacked (my excuse is that the cats are enjoying its jungle gym-qualities too much) and b) running more errands, which unfortunately are absolutely necessary.

Best thing about the week: The discovery of whole-grain honey-oat Kodiak flapjack mix, and that it actually tastes good with the addition of soymilk and an egg (and cooked on a skillet of course.) And unlike standard pancakes they are packed with fiber and more than the usual protein... mmmmm! Have more taste too.

Also my current drawing is actually turning out O.K. for once. Yay. Lately they have all been teh lose.

Yaaayyyyy money

And they say money can't buy happiness

Ummm the worse news is that the moving truck is NOT coming this week after all but will rather be next Monday or Tuesday instead.

Le sigh.

Oh wells... this means I have an excuse to check out the local art store (errr gotta find one first) since there is some stuff that I DEFINITELY have to be gettin' busy on.

Mostly I have to find large quality pastel paper and some kind of surface to work on, other than MY FLOOR. Kthx.

Heyyy

Just wanted to let everyone know that I made it to Salt Lake in one piece... reasonably good trip, long-ass drive, ready to strangle Tonks for hiding a) up a tree for several hours before even starting the trip, causing delay of several hours, when the ordinary Bageldelay was already in effect, b) in the first hotel wedged behind the bed in an impossibly small space, causing a prompt and necessary rearrangement of furniture in the morning to get him out and c) in the second hotel under the kitchenette dishwasher so that it took three hours to find him and the rest of the day to starve him out basically... yeah he was about to be voted off the island... punk. Good thing the Bagelwagon held up great or I think I'd have lost all sanity... anyway that's bout it for now... peace out!!

BOSTON—Justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled 5-2 Monday in favor of full, equal, and mandatory gay marriages for all citizens. The order nullifies all pre-existing heterosexual marriages and lays the groundwork for the 2.4 million compulsory same-sex marriages that will take place in the state by May 15.
